Thorpeness Golf Course - Hole 2

Thorpeness Golf Course Par 3 Holes

The challenging par 3 holes at Thorpeness golf course give our players a great chance to get a much needed birdie on their scorecard. However, as many find out, these short holes are not as straight forward as they first thought. Let us introduce you to the four Par 3 holes at Thorpeness golf course in Suffolk.

Thorpeness Golf Course - Hole 2

A 3 or 4 iron is required here to make it safely on to the green. A bunker lies to left of the fairway around the 165 yard mark while 4 more bunkers surround the green on the left and right hand side. A slight slope on the green makes this a tough hole to crack.

Distance: 182 Yards / White tee
View from a Pro: "A good short hole, long narrow green requiring a long iron or wood. Don't miss the green on the left." Frank Hill

Thorpeness Golf Course - Hole 7

A healthy tee shot is required here to carry the ball over the water and safely onto the green or fairway. Once you have survived the first water feature at Thorpeness golf course, a short chip onto the green should lead to a par score of 3.

Distance: 145 Yards / White tee
View from a Pro: "Pretty short hole demanding a straight tee shot, do not miss the green on the left." Frank Hill

Thorpeness Golf Course - Hole 10

Hit a 4/5 iron up and over the trees to land on the base of the green or on the fairway if you are playing a conservative round. A back to front slope on another excellent Thorpeness Golf Course green will require a good putt to make a good birdie or a respectable 2 putt for par.

Distance: 180 Yards / White tee
View from a Pro: “The safe tee shot is to the back left quarter of the green this will keep you away from the bunkers and make all the pin positions accessible. The most difficult pin position is back right. The green slopes from back to front.” Frank Hill

Thorpeness Golf Course - Hole 16

The 16th hole at our Suffolk golf course hosts a generous green which allows you to play up and onto the left quarter of the green to ensure a birdie opportunity. Don’t go too far left or a bunker will cause problems.

Distance: 193 Yards / White tee
View from a Pro: "Long iron required to a generous green aiming left of the centre, bunkered on both sides." Frank Hill
