Bird Spotting, Thorpeness.
The Great White Egret was spotted from the banks Thorpeness Meare from the Thorpeness Hotel gardens in the first few days of January 2008.
This caused great excitment for bird spotters amongst the hotel guests.
Also around the same period a Bitterne was seen.
