The Thorpeness Hotel and golf course is situated in a peaceful location next to the Thorpeness Meare and 5 minutes’ walk from the beach. As soon as you arrive, you can’t help but leave the stresses of everyday life behind you. The 18 hole par 69 course is officially Britain's Greenest Golf Course after winning the “Overall Environmental Achievement Award” at the STRI Golf Environment Awards 2012. Its coastal location is an area of outstanding natural beauty and benefits from some of the best UK weather - making this an excellent all year round course.

Thorpeness looks wonderful. In particular, the intriguing new championship tee at twelve is the thinking golfer’s dream! Set back and to the right of the original line of play, the driver must avoid two trees standing sentinel between the tee and the fairway.
